With the tools we now have to identify animals at risk of developing laminitis, we are better armed to prevent this condition before it arises. Horses and ponies should no longer have repeat bouts of laminitis every year.

To put this into practice, we have formulated two laminitis packages which will help you know your horse or ponies risk and prevent bouts.

LAMINITIS RISK ASSESSMENT PACKAGE

​

This package is £240 inc. VAT and visit and includes:

1. In-Area Visit

2. Veterinary Consultation and Weigh tape/Body Condition Scoring

3. Foot radiography

4. Blood testing of basal Insulin levels on current pasture routine, plus ACTH levels if indicated (horses and ponies over 15 years old with clinical signs suggestive of PPID)

5. Formulation of bespoke Plan aimed at preventing laminitis, including diet, weight, pasture management and exercise programme.
